I have been using the Motus Nova for over a year now. I had my stroke 8 1/2 years ago.I have continued therapy for the last 8 1/2 years. The Motus Nova has helped my hand tremendously to gain strength and moving the fingers more. It has also helped to straighten the arm somewhat.
My outpatient rehab team and I have worked directly with Amie Canning, OTR/L, Clinical Specialist with Motus Nova and the experience has been exceptional! She provided skilled training for the professionals on our team and is present to help our patients as they integrate and rehabilitate as part of their recovery. I am giving this entire process a -900. The experience has been beyond discouraging. My husband is a stroke patient who desperately needs this device, yet months later, nothing has been done to help us. The process to obtain the device has been disorganized and insufficient from the start. No one seems to know how to properly bill insurance, and customer service has been useless—calls are never answered, and it takes 24–72 hours for anyone to call back. FYI!! There is no free trial.. insurance only covers 80% of its cost and the copay will be around $300 a month
