They called to invite me to apply to a job that was posted on many public job boards. I already applied for this job, but I figured that this recruiter could help me get noticed by the hiring manager. She took a lot of information from me, and I never heard from her again. I suppose this is how they increase their pool of candidates, and they had no intention of promoting me for this job - I doubt they were even affiliated with the company.
