Motel 6 on Savannah Highway has always been a place where people who meet online hookup for sex. I know there have been swinger parties there too. If the bed is rockin', someone is knockin'....or it could be bangin'....
I’m really not sure how Motel 6 stays open. It was built in the late 50’s/early 60’s so it’s not exactly modern. Not to mention it’s pretty much surrounded on all sides by 2 major heavily traveled noisy highways and an interstate.
Motel 6 Charleston west of the Ashley is very, very old and as such the building is extremely dated and lacks any modern amenities whatsoever. It’s a two level concrete block motor lodge with exterior facing doors that open onto the parking lot. On one side it’s bordered by McDonald’s, on the other an on ramp to I-526 and on the back side it’s at the convergence of SC Hwy 7 and US Hwy 17 South at I-526. It’s a very heavily traveled noisy location. For most the only reason to even consider a stay is due to the cheap rate; how... read more
Motel 6 on Savannah Highway (US Hwy 17 South) at I-526 was built in the late 1960’s and looks like it. Great location but very old, dirty and dated. Definitely a budget motel. An episode of the HBO series “The Righteous Gemstones” was filmed here. I wouldn’t stay here, but if you have no other options at least it’s in a good area of Charleston west of the Ashley.
Stayed here for one night, the person running the hotel was great super friendly and helpful so I would give that a 10. However, if you stay in the rooms it’s dirty there was hair on the beds and on the towels in the bathroom. I will not go back. Also the noise at night was super loud with people talking and just walking around. We ended up checking out and moving to another hotel and was much happier
I had bedbugs in room 203.
Waited 10-15 min on someone at the desk, got my key went to the room... Key did not work, went back to the office waited ANOTHER 15 min... It was the manager & he did not apologize, just changed our rooms... We get into the room & find 4 bugs in the shower after checking everything & laying down a bit i then see FOUR ROACHES coming out of the crack in the corner of the wall... I go to the office clearly wanting my money back, the lady couldn’t give me my money back so I had to wait until the next morning. All she could do wa... read more
Staff has been great, but owner is to tight to fix roach problem, lots of riff raff here. Last time to stay here. Building starting to sag. Last day here, storm moving in TG. No sleep in 3 long days, spend the money, it was quick grab, not thinking.. PTSD after this.
