They are not closed and do a great job with repairs.
Several years ago, my neighbor brought a snowblower to Mosciarello for repair and afterward I borrowed it. I noticed that it would work with light snow but not at all with heavy snow. When I looked closely I found that the bearing on the pulley for the drive belt was so worn out that it did not engage anymore when the lever that tightens the belt was engaged - clearly something that no one should have missed when doing a turn up.
