The ICU was beautiful, 5star nurses and then after my baby had major surgery, a few days later he (we) were released to a regular floor for recovery and I cried that night. The walls were dirty, it was dark, old, small, and I had to give directions to the new nurse seconds after meeting her. She was going to give my son medication orally when he was NOT free to have anything by mouth so soon (trachea reconstruction). As if I (we) haven't been though enough. I was scared for my son.
