About

Montgomery BCC Transmissions, the county's oldest transmission shop, is located in Rockville, Maryland at 501 E. Gude Drive. It all started back in 1956 when BCC Transmissions was opened in Bethesda / Chevy Chase. In 1972, the company re-located to Rockville on North Stonestreet Ave. In 1984, the company moved again in the current state-of-the-art, 10,000 square foot 17-service bay shop, complete with a separate rebuilding lab. In 1996, the company merged with Montgomery Transmissions on Redland Road and combined both shops into the E. Gude Drive location. We have over 52 years of providing service to the area. After all these years, we are still owner/operated and provide superior service t

Go Elsewhere for your Transmission needs I had my trucks transmission rebuilt there in 2010. I was traveling out of state and this happened to be the closest shop to me when my transmission blew up. It took them over a week to rebuild and re-install my transmission. I opted to have a shift kit put in and also purchased their nationwide warranty through a company called, ATRA ( The truck wasn’t ready when I got there so I waited and then the truck didn’t do well on the test drive. So, I stayed the night at a hotel and then the next day it still wasn’t working correctly. Due to miscommunication in the shop the old/blown torque converter had been inadvertently re-installed. After that was replaced, it still didn’t work and they discovered a bad valve in the valve body. At this point I needed to get home and the owner of the shop got me a rental car to drive until my transmission was fixed properly. I drove back up the following weekend and got my truck. At the three month mark, I took it in to a local ATRA participating shop for its transmission check-up. A week after that, the check engine light came on and it had a transmission code stored. So began the troubles. I ended up having to use two different shops in Virginia, because the first shop didn’t want to put up with the run around that they got the first time. All told the truck was in the shop 4 times in under a year. Each time was at least two weeks and often longer. I had to go back and forth with the shop manager, the owner and the warranty company. It was extremely frustrating. Eventually, the warranty company paid to have a new transmission installed because this shop would not agree to replace the transmission despite several trips to the shop and different parts being swapped out. As it turned out, the code kept coming back, not due to an internal error of the transmission, but because even after they had removed the blown torque converter, the new unit they had installed was the wrong model for my truck. While initially, I give them high marks for the customer care I got, the run around and hassle with the warranty was unacceptable and the back and forth and delaying just got downright aggravating. I would not recommend this shop to anyone.
