My primary physician referred me here to Monterey Urgent Care for a hip X ray. All was great until I tried to get a copy sent to my Dr. Three calls were made, the X ray was never sent. I was told I'd need to pay a fee to hand carry it to my orthopedist You will die trying if you want a copy.sent t your physician. All staff is kind, professional, and knowledgable. The wait has never been very long and the staff is great.
BEWARE! if you need x-rays. I broke my arm on a Saturday--went in for x-rays and a cast. After a 3-hour wait, getting x-rays and a very flimsy splint, was told I would have to see an orthopedist on Monday, and would have to pay $25 UPFRONT for a CD FOR THE ORTHO-DOC TO READ. Everyone else, CHOMP, Doctors on Duty, etc. puts the x-ray images on a secure web site for the doctor to view. Urgent Care would NOT include the CD charge with the claim to the insurance company. Great place to take the family for medical care. I have been using them for years now and can't see myself sitting for hours at the ER or at Doctor's in a Box! They take walk in's so that's even better.
Nice location and facility. Didn't have to wait too long. The PA was fast, but got me what I needed.
Our family has been to this Urgent care 4 times in the past year-- they are professional and well trained. They are not a substitute for a primary care doctor-but were good for us with sudden flu like illness, sports injuries, ear infections, etc.
Be aware that the office will not provide tests results when normal unless you explicitly request it. Administrative personnel is unpleasant and dismissive with patients.
