Order the short ribs, miso butterfish, sashimi (shiromi...my fav). Wine or sake (nanbu bijin tobubetsu junmai).
I've been to a lot of sushi places and Monstera does not hold up. Food is good, but way over priced. $19 for a tempura udon is insane. You're better off saving your money and eat at Waikiki.
Dont be fooled by location this is top sushi. I almost went to sensai
Get omakase at the sushi bar and watch Norio's impressive skill. Try something new.
sit at the sushi bar if norio is there.. we didnt actually order anything.. he kept preparing us stuff and we loved it!
Get the Seafood Baked Papaya. Interesting and delicious.

The wine list is very good and very very reasonable. I was surprised by their high quality selection and decent prices.
Menu claims best wine prices in Kona--they likely have the best wine prices anywhere. Drink up.
