An update, so I decided to switch from Monitech to Smartstart. Best decision I have made in a long time. I only wish I would have gone with this Smartstart from the beginning. Monitech screwed my installation up. It has killed my battery twice, multiple recalls for errors (never alcohol), and of course it was always my fault. Surprise!! I have had 0 problems after several months with Smartstart. They have updated equipment, it initializes when the ignition is on and does not run all the time like monitech.
