hidden Italian treasure! Mondos is a great locally-owned Italian restaurant hidden in a strip mall on James Island near the corner of Folly Road and Maybank Highway. I passed by it without noticing it thousands of times until a friend introduced me, and I am so grateful that she did! Best Eggplant Parmesan in Charleston Mondos has the best Eggplant Parmesan in Charleston. They were once open for lunch which was great, I don't know why they quit serving lunch but dinner is just as good. PROS: Eggplant Parmesan CONS: Not open for lunch anymore
RecommendedIt has been 37 days since we have eaten out! Nothing, not lunch, not dinner, not even a snack. Tonight we broke that record and broke it with one of the best. Probably our local favorite, most definitely our JI fav... Mondo's is just delicious whether it was our 10th time or 100th time eating there. The food is always done perfectly.
Fun family food... great atmosphere
We had an amazing to go order last night from our friends at Mondo’s. My only regret is that I didn’t take a picture of how they seamlessly put together a five star Italian meal in to go boxes. Fresh and delicious and pickup was outside and totally clean and sanitary. The Gorgonzola salad with blackened salmon and meatball app is for real my favorite meal in Charleston and they sent the bread, olive oil, parm, perfectly packaged and executed. Definitely one of my favorite places to go for an amazing dining experience! Great staff, great food, and a great atmosphere makes this one of my favorite restaurants to be able to introduce my friends and family to. If you’ve never eaten here before and decide to give it a chance, I know you won’t regret it!
Came highly recommended ! I will go back. Meal was great but a long wait. I guess that tells you the food is good ! We got there about 7 served at 8:45. On a Sat night. It was worth the wait.
