My wife met Mona Lisa 34 weeks in, we were super late but knew we were in good hands from our first appointment. She is super kind and has a very calming down to earth vibe but most importantly has the knowledge you need to know when going into labor. The little lessons we did were very interactive, I thought I would be bored but she made it fun. She guided both us before and during labor and was always there when we needed her. Nurse to lazy to move you around? No worries Mona will.
I was referred to Monalisa by a relative who shared that she was great and supportive. At the time I had recently suffered a miscarriage and was struggling with anxiety around my current pregnancy. Not all doulas are created equal! I have had 4 home births & 3 doulas. Without a doula I would not have made it through my first home birth. When my former doula was no longer available, I tried another. It was not the experience I was hoping for after having such a wonderful experience with my former doula. I can’t say enough good things about having Monalisa as my doula. Not only is she the only VBAC link certified doula in the valley, she is a wonderful person. She was with me every step of the way during my pregnancy, birth, and even checked in with me postpartum. Where to start…if I can give more stars I would. When I first booked my appt with Monalisa I was indecisive if I really needed a doula. My GOAL for my second pregnancy was a unmedicated VBAC. Monalisa educated us SOOOO much and prepared us for when our baby got here. There was so much information for when it was time to go in that I had no idea.(like the drugs they use, the different options we have for labor) I thought you go into the hospital, the nurses get you ready and going and you have your baby.
