My daughter had an appointment as a new patient for 8 am. We arrived at 7:45 am. They finally unlocked and opened the doors at 8:10 am. The receptionist is the most unpleasant, impersonal and rudest person I have ever encountered. We spent over an hour filling out the paperwork only to be told after that they required us to pay the entire insurance deductible before my daughter could be seen. Porto was my psychiatrist for over ten years with no problems at all. He wanted to hear my issues and appeared to care for the things happening in my life. He genuinely seemed like he wanted to make a difference with my condition. Dr Molligan is awesome but his office staff are horrible. Rude and I am pretty sure they pocket money under the table. When I showed them what my insurance paid and what I paid out of pocket there was over $200. difference and when I brought it to their attention the lady told me they were not done with all the charges. I hadn't seen him in 6 months so why were they not done with all my charges. Again when I asked they said the balance was 0. Nothing left over and I know for sure I had a credit over $200. This creature does not care about anxiety disorder. When I saw him he would not prescribe anything because he said it would aggravate the brain just like vodka did to his. I ended up in the mental hospital. Avoid him and Dr Cobb at all costs!!!!
He's thourough. Straight to the point. The office wait time isn't long. Has a pleasant demeanor.
Dr. Porto is fine as long as you are fine. But if you are suffering he doesn’t even care. He doesn’t want to talk to you about how you are feeling. All of a sudden he just took me off of the medication that had kept me stable for over 6 years without any explanation. I immediately went into depression and he refused to adjust my new medication until I had attended therapy for six months. Never seen a doctor care as little as he does. Don’t trust your mental health care to him.
When I complained of continued pain after wrist surgery, he said it's ok, go live your life. When I lost function of my thumb, I went to another doctor who said the plate Molligan used severed the tendon to my thumb. The swollen bump on my wrist was the ulnar bone out of place. Now I must have a third surgery due to this man's sloppy work.
Dr. Gutheil performed a significant hip surgery on my daughter at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. He was great at keeping her engaged and informed about her care - as opposed to some docs who focus only on the parents.
On 06-08-22 I had appointments for my 4 year old & my 2 year old. The appts were for well check/establish care as we had never seen Dr. Akul before. My son has had some behavioral issues for a while now & I was advised by his teachers & both of his therapists to establish care with a new PCP due to UMC NW Pediatrics closing for good (former pedi) & to have them send a referral in to have him evaluated for ADHD or possibly Autism.
