First, my waitress was great. I ordered the fish sandwich with side of onion rings. The fish was a frozen fried fish square that wasn't hot when it was served and my $6.95 order if onion rings was 4, that's right they served me 4. I was disappointed to say the least. It may be the oldest restaurant in Monroe but I wasn't a happy customer.
We went on a Saturday night and had no wait and exceptional service. However, I was not impressed with the mixed drink I received as well as some of the food. I really liked the steak- it was cooked to perfection. I didn’t enjoy the seafood platter- the fish tasted like it was unsalted and the shrimp were fairly cold and not crispy. So genuine, what you see is the absolute way it is! VERY delicious food, amazing service and comforting atmosphere!!! We will be back every time we're in-State and HIGHLY RECOMMEND to everyone!
Asked around town where to get the best oysters, and everyone told me I had to check out Moawek. They were absolutely right. This place is a beast. The vibe and interior are incredible, the staff couldn’t have been friendlier, and they were always making sure we were taken care of. And the food… the oysters were fantastic. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. If you’re in town and love oysters, you need to stop in and give this place a try.
