So my family and I came down here from Sacramento on Sunday to celebrate a birthday. San Pedro Square is a cool spot in SJ that has multiple food and drink options, as well as live music. We all had a good time, and everyone had fun, except for out experience at Mochinut. Towards the end of our celebritation, the kids wanted to explore inside the building. NOT MY MOCHINUT! They had no Half and Half, they almost gave my order to a diff person and didnt even call out our name. The food was okay but experience was not it. Go to another mochinut. was not impressed.

Months ago, on a whim I tried my first mochi donut here in a bustling San Jose food hall. It was delightfully chewy, slightly crispy, and possessed a sweetness delicately balanced with rich flavor. Ever since that day I've tried a mochi donut at every opportunity in my travels, and thus far have only tasted bitter disappointment. It's all overly sweet, flavorless, processed slop compared to that original proto-donut. I may never experience such gooey joy again. It haunts me. Corn dog was pretty good too.
