Sushi Sushi Sushi The sushi here was really good, and really fresh. The atmosphere was loud and crowded. The waiters were very nice and answered all of our questions. California rolls were good, and the drinks were superb.
Tasty Rolls While the menu is a bit overwhelming, the food is great. We ordered some special rolls, all of which were delicious, along with cold sake and pitchers of beer ... for 7 people, we ended up with a $200 bill - not bad!
Really Good – I'm really surprised at the negative reviews that some people have posted here. I guess everyone has their own tastes. For my husband and I, they are VERY GOOD. We've been coming here since we came to Santa Cruz. The ambiance is nice, the staff is friendly , and (best of all), the Sushi is EXCELLENT. Mobo's is tied with Takara for our favorite sushi. Both are highly recommended.

Pseudo-Japanese Cuisine – Mobo's has a fairly large menu of neo California style sushi, but is over-priced. After ordering a teishoku entree (set course complete w/ rice and miso soup), I wanted to walk out of the door when the waitress brought my rice when everyone else was having their appetizers, as if the rice was my appetizer! Bad sushi, bad service, extremely overrated. – This has got to be the most overrated sushi place I have ever been too. Its not a good value, the service is horrible the sushi isnt even that good and the ambience sucks. This place attempts to be upscale and trendy but fails on all accounts
Good food, bad service – Food is pretty good, but service is lousy. I've been to this place on numerous occasions and have had mixed service. My last trip had a wait of 30 minutes, but took over an hour to have us seated and a waiter at our table. Hostess was incredibly rude and the matriach did little to aleviate the problem
Not that great – Mobo Sushi is only OK in my book. Although they have a few creative fusion rolls if that's your thing. I'd much rather eat at Pink Godzilla where they have more fresh ingredients and good prices.
