After your day of shopping at Water Tower Place, head down to the mezzanine level, walk past the coffee stand and ask to be seated at the Mity Nice Grill. Sure, the photos of children smiling at you are kitschy beyond belief, but, other than that, the theatrical setting and lighting of the restaurant is unusual among mall eateries. A 1940s flavor is intended to pervade the establishment. You will not be fooled, but even so, the food is pretty good. Chow down on grilled flat breads, steak, chicken dishes and salads and save r... read more

It's tucked away in the back of the Mezzanine of Water Tower place, great comfort food. Mac N Cheese to die for!
This is a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. It is located behind the food court in Water Tower Place and I guarantee you won't regret going here for any meal. The staff is very nice, the food is excellent and it has a relaxing homey feel to it. If you do eat there, you can't go wrong as all of the food is great but I recommend trying the french onion soup, it is the best you will ever have. There is a nice range of food too from burgers to more complete dinners such as fish and chicken and steak.
A pleasant surprise food-wise, but lousy service – We drove all the way downtown originally planning to eat at the italian place in Bloomingdale's only to find that it was closed til 4 due to a private party. It was pouring rain out, so by the time we got to Water Tower, we were rather irritated and very hungry. All the lines were so long, and then they called out for Mity Nice. None of us had ever heard of it, and we were starving, so we decided to give it a go. Lo and behold, it turned out to be perfect. The food was surpr... read more
Shoppers and businesspeople take a break for lunch at this 1940s-style bar and grill. – In Short Cozy booths hug the walls of this Lettuce Entertain You restaurant nestled behind Foodlife in tony, touristy Water Tower Place. Big-band music wafts over the din of clanging silverware, and huge black-and-white photos of kids adorn the walls. Comfort foods like macaroni and cheese and meat loaf abound, as well as fancier offerings like garlic-crusted whitefish and filet mignon. Burgers are the main attraction, though: half-pounde... read more
Strange Location – Great drinks! And the ambience is very cool. The food overall was good. The much celebrated Mac-n-Cheese is actually Rigatoni. It was good, but you can certainly get better. We visited on a Friday with family. The perch-n-chips were great. Moist fillets and crispy fries. The salmon looked delicious. And the flatbread was a hit all around. But it is a big overpriced - and the location is strange (in Water Tower). I'm still not sure if we will be back. Again, slightly above average experience.
Mity but....... – Not worthy of a 10 in my opinion. $10 for Macaroni and Cheese doesn't do much for the value rating, no matter how good. The tuna salad was excellent; the quiche was so-so. Awesome Goose Island Root Beet on draft - a must try. Don't get me wrong, this is a very nice restaurant and the food is quite good with generous portions. However, in the sea of great restaurants that Chicago is, this one is above average, but no better. For lunch I preferred Ditka's. Mity is non-smoking - a bonus. While it is in Water T... read more
