My recent experience with Dr.McDowell was horrible. I am on workmans comp and was assigned to him. I have 2 meniscal tears and damage to the cartilage. He told me it wouldn't heal without surgery but didn't want to pursue surgery as I'd need a total knee replacement in 10 years and I'm "too young". On our last visit I told him I understood his concerns but I'd like to enjoy my youth without pain. And his response was and I'd like to brush my hair ..... Dr. McDowell is not only an incredibly gifted orthopedic surgeon but a very kind and compassionate person. My left hip implant dislocated after being in place for 27 years. I also had a severe case of metallosis throughout my pelvis. Dr McDowell performed two surgeries in 2020 to remove the hardware, address the metallosis and to install a new hip. My hip has remained strong and stable since those very complicated surgeries. I am forever grateful for his expertise.
