Great organization that promotes and recognizes quality journalism and the journalists who work dilligently to get the story right for Mississipians.
The Mississippi Press Association supposedly bars freely distributed publications from full membership, while its members distribute their publications for free in the same market. And it's an extremely un-diverse organization. It should do far more outreach to media outlets owned by women and people of color and recognize the finest journalism in the state regardless of distribution mechanism especially in a time when models have changed so dramatically.
