It’s been a little over 3 months since I gave birth and I still feel the same way about Mission Bernal. I wish I could give zero stars. I came here for prenatal care, and the “hot-potato” approach to seeing a physician was alarming from the start. During labor, the lack of transparency became unbearable. My doula was ignored, and the midwife assigned to me (Claire) actually scoffed at me while I was in labor for the first time. Awful billing and scheduling experience. You will be told by the physician something is preventative and then because they have to send out to other facilities, they do not do the due diligence to process that information correctly. I have had an awful time trying to get health care services and have zero confidence they will follow through.
Avoid this place for prenatal care. They love to advertise “evidence-based” or “low-intervention” care, but the reality is, they follow the bare minimum protocol to keep you technically within the lines, while completely ignoring optimal health or individualized care. It feels neglectful, transactional, and driven more by system efficiency than genuine patient wellbeing. If you’re looking for anything beyond survival-level care, look elsewhere.

Tried to bully me in getting 5 types of vaccinations all at once during my high risk pregnancy. Kept telling them no and to stop asking. They tried to guilt me and implied I was irresponsible. NO MEANS NO.
