NPs are kind and professional, always willing to listen and find out what’s wrong. What I take issue with is the lack of priority for scheduled appointments. When I schedule an appointment for a time, I should be able to see a provider at that time or shortly thereafter. I have frequently been stuck waiting for upwards of an hour unless I get incredibly lucky and there are no walk-ins ahead of me. Checked online for an appointment and the website directed me to go as a walk in since appointment slots were full. Upon arrival at 3:50 pm the computer prompted that they had no more time available. Seems like the website and booking system doesnt match ip with the in store system. We like using CVS Minute Clinic for minor issues, but can't continue to waste time and gas going to locations that state they are taking walk in patients, only to be told they're not upon arrival.
Although the Nurse Practitioner (NP) was kind during my treatment, it is very frustrating not to be listened to as a patient who understands their own body. While I recognize and support the need for medical professionals to be aware of drug abuse, it is incredibly annoying to explain to an NP or PA that a specific medication regimen previously prescribed by my PCP will help with an issue that has occurred before, only to be met with comments like, "Well, CVS does not allow this or that."
