I’ve had two babies at the Minnesota Birth Center and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. I love that I am treated like a person and not just a patient. The environment is very warm and inviting and all the staff are lovely. I love that I’ve gotten to know so many staff over the years.
The midwives I worked with at MBC are knowledgeable, caring, and genuinely curious about providing the best care for pregnant people. My favorite midwife is a bit of a fertility nerd and shared the right amount of information about my changing body to enter labor with confidence. We had our ideal birth in the tub and the nurses even served fresh homemade bread and honey afterwards. Would absolutely recommend MBC midwives for prenatal and labor care to all my girlfriends.
I did a tour here. Seems like a great place to give birth. Unfortunately black women are less likely to deliver at a birth center. I was one of them. Right away, a staff member there treated my husband and I rudely. She told me right away that I cannot give birth at the birth center. We left and never came back. I was the only black women there at the tour. I am so disappointed about this place, but at least I knew up front that I was not wanted. I will be reporting this place for discrimination.
WOW, where to even start except to say that my experience with the Birth Center has been hands-down the best experience with any medical provider I have encountered ever. I wish I could give it a hundred stars! (I had all my prenatal and postnatal care at Minneapolis location, and I gave birth in St Paul due to insurance particularities). Hello to all Readers out there, I am first time pregnant with zero experience and I saw my sister got really clear and nice Anatomy Scan photos with other clinic not Minnesota Birth Center which very nice. My dream was to see everything about my baby and get good Anatomy Scan photos to send them to my precious mother in law in Canada to surprise her, but it didn’t go like what I dreamed.
