Ive had many horrible experiences. Check reviews elsewhere also Google VA hospital issues and complaints etc.and what former employees have to say about care. Community Care might be good but if you live close you have to use the VA and they don't want to admit they don't know, make; or correct mistakes, or send you outside the VA. I could go on and on.
My husband has had horrible care. Failure to diagnose an acute incident and treat. You can see his physical issues abdomen and back. They make him go to there so called specialists with no communication between departments. They will not answer specific questions. I don't think the General surgeon has a clue and they don't want to ever admit a mistake or they don't know and send you to someone who could diagnose. I am a relative of a veteran with CPTSD, or whatever the "proper" term is. They were a member in a group that was led by one provider. I don't have specifics because of privacy laws. The next day after group, I happened to be present when the veteran (my relative) received a phone call from the provider's superior, explaining the possibility of the veteran getting kicked out of group because of something that occurred in group.
