One of my favorite local restaurants, excellent food and big portions. Always recommended as a good dinner or lunch with friends to enjoy some hotpot.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Madison. For hotpot I get the extra spicy Sichuan broth (there's an "extra spicy" box to check) and it provides an incredible depth of flavor. With this broth I recommend the fatty beef which just melts in your mouth, as well as some simple potatoes that absorb the flavor. Hotpot is individual which makes it less intimidating and allows each person to choose their preference. I cannot recommend this spot enough. The hotpot experience is amazing—the food is delicious and they provide individual mini pot per patron. Staff is incredibly kind—the owner is incredibly welcoming and attentive!
We’ve only had takeout from here but it was so tasty — we got the cumin beef, the mapo tofu, and the general tso’s tofu for a more Americanized dish. The cumin beef was so well seasoned and tender with some tasty veggies. The mapo tofu was delicious, I always love the numbing sichuan peppercorn sensation, and other places in Madison often do not include the sichuan peppercorn.
