Disagreeing with a public school, and then going through the process of requesting an Independent Educational Evaluation at public expense is stressful. Selecting an independent evaluator can also be difficult. I am so happy I went with Mindsights to conduct an IEE for my son. 6 to 9 month wait for an initial evaluation. what a joke.
It's very hard to get comprehensive evaluation for adopted kids where history is sketchy. Mindsights was recommended by a parent/caregiver support group, so we went through the process. Even though it requires special permission to have insurance cover kids from eastern Oregon, we will manage to do it and Mindsights helped get through the process. They don't provide exact diagnoses on neurological conditions like FASD, due to regulations, but they evaluation was enough for local services based on FAS spectrum. This is one of... read more
