We are the parents of an 11 year old boy and he has clearly stated that 'I will hurt myself again when no one is looking'. My daughter is there right now this will be her 3rd night there, and I am SCARE to dead, I was able to finally talk to her on the phone and get her patient ID so they can let me communicate with her, she wants to go home for christmas, i asked her if she was taken a shower she said no, (she has her period and got lice), i asked her if she had spoken to a doctor she said no!! omg!!!
There may be people here that care, but it isn't everyone. Techs and nurses are not always present, leaving kids alone. None of these kids are in a great place and some of them will lash out at others, especially when not supervised. They do not communicate with the parents/guardians about anything that goes on in here, and will make make decisions about medication asking for permission after the changes has been made. WARNING THEY WILL HOLD YOU OR YOUR CHILD AGAINST YOUR WILL FOR VOLUNTARY TREATMENT!!!!! I was given no ID number or admittance paperwork at all for my 12 year old daughter. We as parents were treated as if we were stupid. The place is filthy and smells like feces and there were bugs everywhere. We filed an AMA after only 14 hours. They held her another 24 hours for reassesment. The Dr planned to file a court order to hold her BEFORE assessing her. They threatened to call CPS.
