My husband and I rent a unit here from our landlord who has been amazing and while everyone has their own landlord or owns their unit themselves, this building has been great! We have rented in not great complexes before that seem perfect on the outside and up being terrible and unsafe. I have never felt concerned over the safety and security of this building. Creaky floors. Paper thin walls. Sludge coming out of taps. A new rock quarry next door that starts blasting rocks and moving trucks at 6am weekdays. And now half the backyard and parkinglot are inaccessable. Loud neighbors. Absent management. Limited amenities. There's no gym security pool laundry or even a ladder to borrow. people decorate and upkeep the exterior of the property themselves bc management doesn't seem to care. Allendale Mill is an historic structure which needs lots of attention. Residents are a mix of owners and those renting from owners. There is no office. There is also a mix of ages probably leaning on the younger side. Some members of the board have been on for 15 years or more and this needs to change. New members who try to make changes are sometimes swayed by the long-term people for whatever reason. Management is new but does not seem any better than the former company.
