Dr. Stroud may have been a great doctor in the past.....But now (based on my recent office visit) he is a Doctor with the skills, but he does everything he can to run up your bill. Caution: Think twice before going to see this doctor. My opinion, he will do everything to run up your bill. My initial bill was \$30.00 co-pay. The as I was paying my bill - he looked at my face again (in the billing office keep in mind), and out of the blue he finds something else to remove. Bill went from \$30.00 to \$280.00 . Dr. Stroud gives a thorough examination and if any places are suspicious, he sends them off for a biopsy. If the biopsy shows cancer, his office helps in setting up an appointment to have the cancer removed. His office has always been very helpful and polite. They tell you, up front, that the bill will have to be paid and then turned in to the insurance company. I have been completely satisfied with all of my dealings with Dr. Stroud and his office.
I was told the accepted Blue Cross but after the doctor looked for things to charge me for and did the procedures I was told I had to pay the bill in full (instead of the co-pay amount). This is tantamount to a lie! This doctor had no bedside manner and was very combative when I spoke to him to try and find a mohs surgeon that I felt I could afford. He even sent me a registered letter claiming I had refused treatment! Stay away, drive to Ft. Worth and find a reputable dermatologist, PLEASE
