best sushi in town my friends – greatest sushi in salt lake. totally worth any wait. great bar downstairs.
High Quality Meal – I am from NY, and have had sushi from a lot of places we have in NY. My family was in SLC for a convention and found this place, we took 8 people with us. The service was prompt, sushi was excellent, and the others who didn't want sushi, and got the Shrimp Tempura thought it was ABSOLUTELY fabulous! In NY, prices are cheaper, but quality doesn't have a price. Mikado was an excellent choice, and I recommend it highly!
Mikado, like all sushi I have had in Utah is Hit or Miss. The first time we went there it was fantastic! We sat at the bar and my husband is half Asian so I guess we got the good stuff. The second time we had a tatami room and the sushi was not great. The ebi we got was rubbery and old, so we sent it back. They sent out a maguro to replace it and the rice had no vinegar whatsoever. I would recommend the bar, just so they know they can't stick you with the bad stuff.
good quality, bad value – Yes, the sushi is very good, and the fish is very fresh, but it's SO expensive. there are better valued sushi spots with the same high quality. I only eat here when they have their deals, like all you can eat or half price lunch rolls. I will commend them for having those! The private rooms are nice for a romantic date.
Great Deals! – Mikado has great lunch specials Monday-Friday where all the rolls are half off. It's a great deal, although you have to sit at the sushi bar. The service does have some problems, but I think it is worth it if your getting really great sushi for half off.
