Mijori is a solid option for those in search of sushi in the Grand Lake area of Oakland. Because this place is very popular and cozy (read: small), the wait can be long. Order the Double Eagle roll and enjoy the complimentary bowl of miso soup. Also on the menu you'll find sashimi, tempura, bento boxes and other Japanese standards. Mijori offers takeout as well. Please note that there is a $15 minimum if you need to use a credit card.

We love this place... – We really love this sushi place and go to it often. Their prices are good, the quality is good and we try to make it in every few weeks. It is a local fav. of our family!
for $35.00 I expect more – We bought 4 custom rolls a piece of Nagiri, Hamatchi and Unagi and felt very disappointed by our take out order. The rolls were extremely small for the price and the sushi was just so so. I've eaten at almost every east bay sushi bar and Mijori has been decent but not this time. I'm a chef and know the cost of these items and felt the price vs. the value was in my terms, a rip off. Drop your prices on the rolls and give us more value please
the absolute best! – I ate at Mijori for the first time over a year ago, and it is the only sushi I will eat in the bay. This little hole in the wall has by far met my expectations and then some everytime I have gone. I am always left feeling satisfied. The rolls are amazing, nigiri is excellent, and so is everything else I have tried. The wait staff isn't spectacular, you have to flag them down a lot, but considering you are eating the best sushi on this side of the bay, its not a big deal. And the miso soup is amazing!
keep secret please – have had nothing less than an excellent experience. visit at least twice a week. the servers are a bit young, but two are brothers and will do just about anything and sincerely. must have ninja and titanic rolls, the absolute best. once the back area smelled like pine sol and another time our name was mispronounced and we were overlooked for seating. neither of which would cause me to not keep going back for the best sushi in the area.
Great Sushi – We found this place by accident when we saw the long line of people waiting outside. What a gem. We go once or twice a week for wonderful sushi and bento box dinners (try the salmon). The tempura is crispy and not greasy. The rolls are delicious. The fish is FRESH. Service is excellent. The prices are reasonable. The people in the long lines know good sushi.
Imaginative rolls, but..... – I am constantly amazed by the popularity of this place. There is a waiting list to get a seat on most evenings and I cannot imagine why. The regualr sushi (fish and rice) is overpriced and not very good and while there is an imaginative selection of maki rolls, their preparation is poorly executed. What you are served is a mound of rice, with some bits of fish and vegies in the middle and sauce poured over the whole mess. THe best sushi rolls are nice and tight, evenly cut and nicely presented. ... read more
poor sushi rolls – The sushi chefs are inexperienced and poorly trained. I can cut sushi better. The chunks were anywhere between .5 to 2.5" and the sushi just fell apart. Also, for the spicy rolls they just take hot sauce and squeeze it on the roll - very tacky.
Good Japanese Restaurant – I like to Japanese food very much, especially sashimi, nigiri, temayaki. I have been to so many Japanese restaurants around the Bay Area. Only this one is the best one I have ever been to. I am very picky on the shape, color, taste and fresh with the raw fish. The chefs in Mijori do it very well. The raw fish are so fresh. You can also taste the fried oysters, combination sashimi, salmon skin temayaki. Food is good and it cost you not much. Why not come to take a try?
Fantastic Sushi – I am a vegetarian personally and live in the neighborhood - it is one of my favorite places to eat. Great food, awesome bentos, etc. All my meat lover friends rave about this place as well. Good times. Good times.
