Having a midwife for my first pregnancy was fantastic! Your appointments are long enough to actually feel like you are being cared for and have your questions answered. Occasionally you may have to have one rescheduled because your midwife is at a birth but that would happen with an OB/GYN too. So much informed consent, education, and autonomy throughout the process and you can't beat the continuity of care for you and your little one. The midwives were so amazing during my pregnancy and after I had my baby. I definitely recommend the midwives!!
I was afraid to go to a midwife. I’d seen a ogbyn for my last 2 children. Both births I felt no one heard me. Well at first all was great. Slow start but good. I was extremely sick throughout my 1st and 2nd trimesters. I wasn’t feeling good and wanted to get checked. Constantly dizzy, dehydrated, nauseous… you know pregnancy things.
