I can't say enough good things about the birthing center and the midwives here. They are a lot more caring and provide much more detailed information at visits in comparison to an OBGYN office. They were supportive throughout my labor and continued to follow up with me postpartum. I am thankful to have them.
I had an extremely traumatic experience at this birthing center and would not recommend it to others. During my labor, which began around midnight, the head midwife forced me into an intervention I was not fully informed about. She performed a procedure to break my membrane (which she referred to as a ‘bloody mess’) without properly explaining what it entailed or obtaining my clear consent. In today’s world it is nearly impossible for something to match so closely to what your expectations are, that you would call your experience perfect. Well, the Virtua Midwifery Birth and Wellness Center did the impossible. They gave me the perfect pregnancy care and labor & delivery experience. Amazing care from gynecology, to prenatal, to during pregnancy, birth, to postpartum. I am never going anywhere else but here for my care. I love the midwives here!!
Wonderful experience from prenatal care to post partum. The midwives and all the staff are wonderful, very helpful, and you can sense they love what they do. This is a beautiful and calm setting to give birth. If you are not interested in a natural birth you have options if you want or need to deliver at the hospital. If you are contemplating this option, I recommend you make an appointment to speak to the team to see if this is a right fit for you.
