In response to the Colleen review: First of all, you must have known the cost of the appraisal when you signed the bank’s contract, so that is a very lame excuse. Next, I think that the original appraisal company saved someone a major headache down the road. Ten months ago, and the few years before that, housing prices were out of control! But go ahead and ask for your price, most likely inflated by $40k, or refinance, or whatever. The inflated housing prices only serve to increase commissions for selling the house. Karen did our our appraisal, from Midwest. She was pleasant and arrived on time but my husband and I were not were not impressed by the experience or the results! The term "low ball" comes to mind. The appraisal itself was nothing more than a quick walk through and photos. Kinda of like walking across a stage in a evening gown competition Nothing we told her about the big improvements, like a roof, furnace, new sidewalk, newly sided garage made any difference. I have done business with this company twice and I have been disappointed both times I picked one star because I could not pick none. Beware people and research before using any company, this is a heads up on this one
