If I could I would give 0 stars. Currently in my last trimester of pregnancy and suffering from anemia and extremely low iron - blood transfusion territory. I needed a referral to receive urgent iron infusions. My PCP submitted a referral to which was approved by my insurance I have the letter stating so. Dr. Ortega and his team have been a God send to me. I was referred to a great surgeon by my primary and my surgeon referred me to Dr. Ortega. When you find out you have cancer, your world alters and the entire team at Dr. Ortega’s has been there supporting me every step. It feels like I spend more time in their office than anywhere else sometimes and I’m grateful to be there, surrounded by people who genuinely care about me and my treatment. From my first appointment, Nurse Candice was rude (I'll never understand why). Dr. Ortega referred me for a third opinion, and I never saw him again to discuss the results, despite calling three times to make an appointment (11/21/2024, 11/24/2024, and 3/17/2025). Unfortunately, on the third call, Candice answered and never transferred me to the appointment voicemail; she transferred me to another extension.
I heard Candice talking badly about a patient and breaking their HIPPA. Very sad that a nurse would do something like that. Otherwise Dr Ortega’s team is very nice, love Norma and Keshla. But super disappointed in the lead nurse
