Doctor Mickus has done a great job of keeping me healthy over the last 30 plus years. He cares and it shows.
For whatever reason, Dr. Mickus doesn’t want to handle medical issues. Only wants to do general & follow up exams. I had a valley fever test, received the results from Sonora Quest, & it came back positive. His nurse, NOT HIM, called me saying it was negative! When I questioned it because I got results stating otherwise. I asked how he can say it’s negative when it clearly states positive for Valley Fever. Repeatedly saw him for same problem(s) that weren’t getting better for MONTHS! He had me get a valley fever test. I got the results from Sonora Quest. I called his office 2 days in a row to have him explain the results to me. Was told he was still reviewing the results. Finally got a call by his nurse who told me the test was negative. PROBLEM was my result from Sonora Quest stated POSITIVE! I was still sick & losing weight. I've been with him for 24 years and won't go anywhere else.
Although Dr. Mickus does OK as a GP, he did not recognize that Nexium would cause irregular heartbeat. After going to a cardiologist, it was confirmed that Nexium was causing my symptoms. Didnt Know! Web MD states it?? And then there are his incompetent staff, it took me three days to get a prescription for Prevacid, which is what I needed to replace the Nexium.
