Any other contractor would not have done something so ignorant to the residents without informing the city, bus transportation, emergency services, and so on. This is a serious lack of professionalism, demonstrated by a local contractor who obviously had no competition for the bid to do one simple thing- repave Hawthorne Road. Hawthorne runs North to South, and the blocked streets run East to West. I worked at Mickelsen construction for about 7 months and I can honestly say I’ve never worked at a company who’s owner I’ve respected more than the owner of this company. You wouldn’t know who he was if you were the new guy because he might be next to you laboring. It’s a family run company and all of his sons and his daughter take pride in the company and work physically hard. They also understand the concept of family and family emergencies. It was a great experience for a great company
