THE ABSOLUTE WORST experience Ive had with endocrinology at Southwest Medical. This provider has a problem with OZEMPIC and almost immediately (within the first 5 mins of the visit, asked me if I had any constipation with OZEMPIC which is common) I answered yes but I plan to do more naturally to help with that…she immediately starts saying she was taking me off lit because constipation side effect is grounds for hospitalizations, poison in my gut, etc! Absolutely the worst when it comes to communication. She tells me I need to have my pancreatic enzymes checked before she’ll give me Ozempic. I follow instructions and control my glucose very well and she tell me she can’t give me Ozempic because my numbers are now “too good”. I’m still overweight, I still need help managing my weight and she wants nothing to do with helping me. Her words, “we arent a weight loss clinic”. Do NOT recommend! Has the worst bedside manner and cannot communicate effectively when it comes to patients’ interdisciplinary plan of care. Supposedly she’s an APRN with training in Endocrinology, but refuses to help manage weight loss in diabetic patients that need help. Told my husband that “she’s not a weight loss clinic” when he asked for a GLP1. He’s a proven Type 2 diabetic and really needs this! She decided to provide ZERO patient education as to why she won’t prescribe it. Just said “no”
