BUYER BEWARE -- especially if you are considering purchasing a home in a Michael's Homes neighborhood. I've lived in a Michael's Homes neighborhood since 2020. It's 2025 and they still HAVE NOT finished our neighborhood. Now, they want to turn over the HOA and essentially forgo their responsibility to finish our neighborhood ...one can’t help but assume financial duress.... given the state of the real estate market, why wouldn't a developer want to complete a neighborhood? Superior
One of the biggest flaws of our 2017 Michael’s home is you can literally hear everything happening on the toilet upstairs, it’s SO loud. It’s 2 AM and another sleepless night. I have complained about this in first year warranty repair and no solution or offer to alleviate the noises. Make sure you not only look for issues, but listen as well before you buy one of their homes.
My partner and I started our build process with Michael’s Homes after seeing another one of their builds. With as quick as developers throw homes up in middle TN now, we were skeptical, but after researching and meeting with them, we started our new home. It was a fantastic experience from working with Jennifer on our selections, Greg and Jeff on construction and craftsmanship, and Jimmy on contracts and closing. I recently toured the Short's Crossing community and was pleasantly surprised with the amenities offered at this price point. After recently touring some other neighborhoods in a comparable price range I was not expecting to see that level of quality finishes. A gas range and granite that looked like it was from an HGTV show caught my attention! The vaulted ceilings were also impressive. Jimmy was very knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions.
