I can walk today because of Dr. Michael Riojas. I came to him in severe, debilitating pain 10 months ago, and the outcome of my surgery truly mattered. Dr. Riojas was calm, skilled, and clear throughout the entire process. He explained what was happening, treated me with respect, and never made me feel rushed or dismissed. Very very friendly, personable guy with good bedside manner who made me feel comfortable. But unfortunately he immediately jumped to prescribing probably the harshest medication out there (a form of chemo) without asking the necessary questions to ensure it was safe for me to take while nursing. I wish he had asked those type of questions and also wish he had offered other options before jumping to such a severe medication.
