At my first appointment for ankle injury I specifically requested looking into an ankle replacement. Shapiro told me that they are unreliable only good for 10 years and being that I was only 57 years old I was not a candidate. The man talk me out of a replacement and into a complete ankle Fusion. 13 months and two unsuccessful surgeries later I am now waiting a complete ankle and Talus transplant from a proficient doctor. Because of what Shapiro did to me, removing too much of the joint, I am going to be the 25th person in t... read more
Front office is rude and highly unprofessional.dr.shapiro does not know what he is doing
*1 1/2 hours late to surgery for my knee. *Didn’t do everything in surgery he said was to be done. *6 years later and I’m in constant pain, my knee is unstable and other MD opinions say either I have to live with it or have a total knee at 48 and in great heath otherwise. *Found out from my medical group they dropped him because, as of late, he botched many hip replacements that kept popping out. * My advice ….run away from this so called MD he does a horrible job!
Dr. Shapiro and his staff are very professional and he has more than 40 years of experience, I had femoral surgery abroad about 8 years ago and my surgery was unsuccessful. Dr. Shapiro operated on my right femur and repaired it in February 2019, and now, after 16 months, I have no problem. Thank you very much Dr. Shapiro.
I had had a severely broken ankle in 2 places, and ankle surgery with plates and screws in Europe. 2 weeks after my surgery I visited Dr Shapiro for a follow up. He took out my cast, did not put a new one or even a splint or boot and left me unprotected and in severe pain. Even though I told him that I need to be casted for 6 weeks and thats common practice too! I ended up going to the ER the next day in excruciating pain, where they placed a spint. Worst doctor ever! Dont go, he doesnt care about his patients.
Rude, abrupt and lacking any respect of patients. An obnoxious doctor who has little regard for the very people he chose to serve. His staff are not much better but what would you expect?
I went to DR. Shapiro around October 2015. At the time I researched his name did not find any reviews trusted him with my Achilles Tendon surgery. Two surgeries later and almost two years I still have an open incision. He wanted to do a third surgery but I lost faith. Have spoken to several outpatient nurses who know of him. I've been told all prior DR. Shapiro post surgery patients they see have infections and have to find a new doctor. I have found a new doctor to hopefully correct it.
Worst experience ever!! Unable to walk due to a poorly set leg. My life has changed tremendously due to his poor surgical skills. Thank I finally found a doctor to correct his mess!
Shapiro kept me waiting over 45 minutes just to get in the room. I went in for extreme swelling and pain in my ankle due to a snowboarding accident. He walked in and immediately started moving my ankle to the point I was in tears. He spent a total of 5 minutes in the room with me before sending me for an MRI and asking me to come back in a few weeks. Long story short, it's broken with torn tendons. No, I will not be back in a few weeks. Or ever.
