He's my primary care physician and I love him!! Very down to earth. Listens to you.
Needs to put down ipad and listen. You have to press too hard to get specialists involved. Multiple visits resulting in him masking problems instead of finding cause of problems.
Was a patient for several years. Friendly likeable guy but tends to minimize my health complaints because my blood work and tests were always so good. I felt shut down when trying to discuss my concerns with comments like "you're getting older" or "it's really not that serious". Recently diagnosed w sleep apnea (despite not over weight) after 5 years of fatigue. In mentioning Dr H in 3 other medical practices in 2018, I was told they hear similar complaints from their patients about him
Dr. Hemmersmeier's hospital scheduler instructed me to have a standard test conducted by the ER at St. Joseph's West in Lake St. Louis. She assured me their would be no ER co-pay or fees, just a standard office visit co-pay and payment for test. Long story short, I have been billed a $250 ER co-pay and $840 for my portion of the test, all at ER pricing. Dr. Hemmersmeier's office manager acknowledged that they messed up on July 5, 2017. Now they wont return my phone calls or fix the billing.
I had scheduled an appointment, and was in a car wreck on the way there. I called less than an hour later to reschedule, and was allowed to. However, when I was on my way to my appt this morning, 10 MINUTES before my appt, I received a call that they were firing me as a pt for a "no call no show". I explained the situation and they had no empathy. All they cared about was I didn't make it in while I was on the side of the road with the police and a wrecked car! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I have been a patient if dr Hemmersmeir for a little over two years. I have only seen him in person twice as he he is never available and does not return phone calls. I have been trying to get my prescriptions filled and he has been unable to fill all my scripts for over two montgs now because offices inability to call the insurance company or pharmacy. Absolutely terrible
