I had a total knee replacement done by Dr Kahan. The arthritis in my knee was very severe, yet he was able to fix it a has given me a chance at a new life. He also gave my kids (my caretakers) his personal cell number for any concerns. Highly recommend. Hopefully he will be able to replace my other knee as well
DO NOT GO!!! He could not figure out what was wrong with my knee - he took MRIs and X-rays and still had no idea I was on crutches for 3 weeks. I finally went to the Oregon Clinic and the doctor saw my X-rays and took 5 minutes to determine I had a bone spur that broke off and settled in the back of my knee he cleared his schedule and had me in surgery within 3 days. The Doctor was mortified to hear I’d been on crutches for 30 days waiting for a diagnosis…that never came from Vancouver Clinic.
This was the most rushed appointment I have ever had. Dr. Kahan could not get out of the room fast enough. He did not want to do any investigation into why I was having knee pain as far as diagnostic imaging, claiming there was no reason he could think of that I would have that knee pain, despite having had a knee injury at work that precipitated this pain. Isn't "not knowing why" the point of investigating further? His recommendation was to go to a pain management specialist to have the nerve in my knee ablated. I'm in my 2... read more
Dr. Kahan was the surgeon who did my knee meniscus tear evaluation and surgery. He seemed intelligent and knowledgeable on this process. I listen to his advice and followed all pre and post surgery instructions. 10 weeks post surgery I met with him again as my knee was still in constant pain if I tried to something as simple as go on a short flat walk less than a mile.
