Advanced heart failure patients should not be placed in cardizem due to its strong negative inotropic effects which can worsen heart function. It may cause pulmonary congestion and hypotension. This very thing happened to my mother under his care. I'd be hesitant to see him again. 2nd opinion saved her life. Thankfully.
