I was there for hip joint pain. I have seen him before for other hip bursitis and another type of pain. I have found him professional and willing to explain my problem and answer questions.
Had knee replacement with Dr. Archibeck almost 4 years ago and would not hesitate to recommend him. He listened and supported and has a great medical team and the best run office and staff I’ve experienced. I now have to have the other knee replaced, put off too long, but plan to have Dr. Archibeck do that knee as well.
I chose Dr. Carothers because of the high reviews. Prior to total knee replacement surgery, I only saw him for a 8 minute chat and it was agreed I would have an epidural block and not general anesthesia. The morning after surgery I was told I had gen anesthesia because my leg moved right before he started cutting. 12 days post surgery the bandage and staples were removed and the physical therapist was shocked that so few staples were used to close the incision, leaving large gaps. I had knee replacement done and I’d Never do it again.So much pain that couldn’t be managed. The anesthetist and the anesthesiologist couldn’t get my leg numb, but they did the surgery anyway.Therefore I had setbacks on recovery. He doesn’t have any bedside manner. My scar is nasty and ugly, he told me I could have plastic surgery on the scar.
I am 14 months out from TKR and I am extremely happy with my outcome! Dr. Archibeck and his PA, Dean Showalter were fantastic throughout the process. I will need the other knee done in the future and I know I will go to Dr. Archibeck again! His whole team is great! Chris Demas
When calling about my symptoms I was told I needed to come in!!! It is a 280 mile round trip and he spent 5 minutes with me with NO resolutions. VERY disappointing!
Never ever again! He had performed bilateral knee replacements on me. He had shortened both of my legs my left one by 1/4 of an inch the right knee 4 mm! Ended my job injured my back I was in his office every month for several months in tears he refused to look at me or do an exam or suggest a revision. Just pain pain pills. I used a walker Crutches and a cane until 2 yrs later I found the most amazing knee surgeon to revise both of my knees so I am able to walk and live a normal healthy life!
I was not looking forward to having my knee replaced or even touched. I was a 71 yr. old male with problems with my right knee. I asked a number of people who worked there if they could recommend a doctor who besides being good had a good all around reputation. Dr. Carothers exceeded it all. I don't even know my knee was replaced except for the slight clicking when I move it a certain way. It difficult to put one's hands in a doctors care but he's exceeds all of my expectations.
I recommend Dr. Carothers for anyone who needs knee replacements.
