I recently dealt with an urgent medical issue that needed immediate attention. Even though my regular physician was out of the office, the staff at Wichita Surgical Specialists worked quickly to get me in with Dr. Michael Porter. My husband has been a patient for over a year (because insurance won't send him anywhere else) and every appointment is late by 45 - 60 minutes because they over book their office, then they don't even take time to listen to the patient. They rush through the appointment and will walk out the door while you are still asking questions. Both surgeries my husband has had with them were behind schedule and have both failed. And on top of all of that the doctor has a terrible bedside manner.
Make sure you get another opinion if you visit him. I was told that a wound I had from a surgery done by him “wouldn’t heal on its own any further and will require another surgery,” has now been completely healed via wound clinic… after he told me a wound clinic couldn’t help my situation when he dismissed me from the office a month ago. His bedside manner needs improved. He always seems to be in a hurry to get in and out of the appointments. Dr. Porter has a great bedside manner and genuinely wants to help resolve my wife medical issue. We have had a couple of set backs but Dr. Porter is always willing to take time to see my wife and answer any questions she has before and after her surgeries. Thank you for your help we just wish we would have been referred to you sooner.
Rude staff, cant even be bothered to answer questions without being rude.
