Dr. McIntosh is an incredibly intelligent and empathetic provider. I felt completely safe and heard during the many years that I was under his care. Unfortunately, I had to suddenly cease treatment with Dr. McIntosh due to a year and a half long restriction put on his medical license that would have caused extremely dangerous and potentially deadly withdrawals for me, and had no choice but to seek care elsewhere very quickly. Dr. McIintosh is the ONLY psychiatrist that actually cared!! I am 52 yrs old and have been seeing Dr's for decades. Dr. McIntosh took the time to sit me down and look me in the eye. He listened to my history, and what side effects I'd had on all the many different pills I've had to take in my lifetime. Dr. Macintosh did not follow telehealth protocol and he was also prescribing conflicting controlled substances such as Adderall and Xanax to the same people and lost his ability to prescribe any controlled substances, leaving hundreds of people to scramble for help at the last second. I never even received a courtesy phone call when he lost his license to prescribe. I learned about this through my pharmacist and had to call and leave a message to ask why I wasn't notified. Been seeing him for years would be lost without him he helped both my sons and myself then out of blue calls me to tell me that he has been flagged and could no longer prescribe my very important and life-threatening medication‘s if I don’t have them, so I am left with no warning and I am in the worst mental state I have been in in years This is very unprofessional on his part. He supposed to worry about his patients and make sure things like this don’t happen.
