I have been a physician for 40 years and my wife had a squamous cell cancer on her left hand. We had this biopsied by another specialist at MUSC (Charleston, Dr. J. Cook- aweful experience). So we came to Northwestern. Dr. Alam was kind, generous, even humorous at times. He was considerate to me and asked us many questions. He went above and beyond the norm, and truly DOES care. Having doctors present sometimes stifles these scenarios, but not with Dr. Alam, he rose to the occasion and was tremendous.
Dr. Zoretic expresses genuine patience and empathy to his patients. He is incredibly easy to reach and schedule a telehealth appointment with as well. I no longer live in the area, so having the flexibility to meet with him on short notice via telehealth has been great.
I think Dr. Conrad is excellent. I would rate her skills a 5. I would rate her newer practice Forefront, ( that she and her partner sold to) a zero if I could rate a zero. Very bad billing, extremely poor follow-up, inexperienced “back end” billing support. Overcharging, beyond comprehensive. No follow up despite calls into Dr. Conrad. I would like to continue seeing Dr. Conrad, but feel her personal lack of oversight of her newer owner is unacceptable. She knew what my complaints were and never returned a call. I would steer clear of Dr. Eng and this office, in general. I've been going to Dr. Eng for over 10 years as my primary physician. I scheduled an annual exam as I typically do every year. The visit was more or less the same as any other visit. Upon receiving my bill, I learned that my insurance had been charged for the annual exam and an additional office visit. They claimed that treatment was provided outside the scope of a normal annual exam. The visit was no different then visits in the past where I was asked and answered ... read more
When I was diagnosed with a large plenum sphenoid olfactory groove meningioma, I was terrified. I had a consultation at a different hospital with a very capable neurosurgeon and was about to go through a bifrontal craniotomy with him, until my boss and my family told me to see Dr. Chandler. He has done over 6500 surgeries and is highly regarded. After meeting with him and the staff at Northwestern, I was totally at ease with his perspective, intelligence, and commitment to do whatever is necessary to evict this tumor and mak... read more
I strongly advise against seeing Dr. Sidle. I visited him for a septoplasty with minor cosmetic adjustments – a slight bump reduction and tip refinement. What should have been a routine procedure quickly turned into a nightmare. After surgery, I developed a severe infection that Dr. Sidle mishandled from the start. He ignored clear signs of trouble, delayed treatment, and dismissed my concerns, which ultimately resulted in lasting damage. When the situation became undeniable, he offered no real assistance, only deflection an... read more
What a terrible experience. It took a full hour to see this provider after I arrived for my appointment, and it was absolutely not worth it. This doctor was completely uninterested in helping me, didn't let me get a word in and gave me zero opportunity to participate in decision making about my care. I felt completely dismissed and wish I had not wasted my time on this appointment. Unless you like doctors with a god complex, I recommend you avoid this provider.
Dr. Darren Brenner demonstrates poor bedside manner and often speaks to patients in a condescending way. He is rarely in the office and relies heavily on his PA to manage patient care, only to frequently block their treatment plans. His reluctance to provide timely and appropriate care can delay proper treatment, which impacts patient outcomes. When he does take on more complex cases, he tends to attribute symptoms to mental health issues, dismissing the physical aspects of their conditions and leaving the patient feeling un... read more
Dr. Flarherty and his entire team are truly wonderful! They explained my condition, a failing aortic bovine valve, and recommended a unique treatment called a UNICORNTAVR. The procedure went very smoothly. They even had to place a stint for an unexpected blockage. I have recovered well and am very grateful for his skills, good humor, and kindness to me and my family! I highly recommend him. He is part of an excellent cardiac team at Northwestern Medicine. Everyone we worked with was exceptional!
