My mother was suffering from severe and debilitating dizzy spells every three days with no known cause; She was hospitalized due to the dizzy spells, which led to vomiting and then passing out from exhaustion. All the major tests (heart, brain, inner ear etc.) were negative, and her PCP wasn't interested in finding a resolution.
