I feared finding a new doctor at 'my age', and after having had Kaiser for 20 years. But, upon meeting Dr. Chase through a beautifully orchestrated ZOOM arrangement (thanks to his amazing and friendly staff), I realized at once I was in the company of a true professional with awesome bedside manners (ZOOMSIDE?). His ability to keep me focused (not easy), ask the right questions, and decide upon actionable and agreeable solutions was a true Godsend. Dr. Michael Chase of Larkspur, California treated me for Gastrointestinal issues for over two decades. He is known to be rude and dismissive and this happened with age and his second divorce. A condition I have, celiac disease, went untreated by him, and so I needed to move on to a younger and more up-to -date physician. In my opinion, it is way past the time for the doctor to retire.
Dr. Chase is the most skilled and meticulous Internal Medicine doctor I have visited in my 82 years. He is thorough and explains every item clearly. He provides the best health care possible and deserves huge credit for his skill and care.
Dr. Chase takes the time with my life threatening medical conditions. I changed my PCP to Michael Chase and other doctors asked the reason why. Dr. Chase was thorough and listens to my concerns which is time consuming. Patients may sit in the waiting room a bit longer because of this. I see many specialist because my previous PCP did not catch important serious medical conditions in a timely man. The difference was life and death. Dr. Chase has spent more time keeping me on healthy path.
The average wait time to see this doctor has been about an hour. Once in to see him, I am lucky if I get 10 minutes. During that time, he has been rude and dismissive and unfortunately, his staff became rude and dismissive as well. My last appointment had me in tears by the time I left. I can't believe I paid $500 on top of my regular office co-pays to be treated like dirt. I find it hard to believe this physician was voted a Marin Top Doc - what a joke.
