Two weeks ago I had a total hip replacement done by the best surgeon Dr. Michael Gerhardt. He told me my life will change and I was happy to hear that since I haven’t had much of a life living with excruciating pain in both hips and being unable to walk without a walker. Today I have ZERO pain in that hip. Even with the swelling and bruising I am able to stand straight on that leg without pain. I never expected the results to be this great. He saw my MRI evaluated my mobility and pain and made the call to do a full hip replacement. I thought I was going to see him for a minimally evasive labrum tear repair, however due to age 58 and osteoarthritis in my hip we went forward to repair with a hip replacement. He was spot on the team and himself took good care of me and I was walking unassisted without pain in the hip in 2weeks. Excellent if you ask me.
Dr. Gerhardt and his team received my MRI and recognized the urgency of my situation. They had me come in right away and worked their magic to schedule me for surgery within just a few days. Dr. Gerhardt had extensive experience with my injury and I knew I was in good hands. I am very grateful to Dr. Gerhardt.
UPDATE (8/25/2025): As I sit here with unfathomable hip pain and discomfort, I am also seething with regret that I ever consulted with Dr. Gerhardt. My body, and my life, will never be the same. If I could give one recommendation to anyone deciding on a doctor to address hip issues, NEVER go to Dr. Michael Gerhardt. I had a very disappointing and concerning experience with Dr. Michael Gerhardt regarding what was supposed to be a straightforward meniscus surgery. During the procedure part of the surgical equipment broke off and was left inside my knee. This is a serious error that has caused ongoing pain and complications.
