I have been seeing Dr. Darren Bell for several years due to having diabetes. He's not the friendliest of doctors, but he appears to do a good job. Recently saw him for my yearly diabetes eye exam. When he learned that I was no longer seeing the "Dry Eye" doctor at MCOA, he made unprofessional remarks regarding how my new dry eye doctor was treating me. Then he made a remark about how my diabetes in my eyes appears to have gotten better; it might be because my blood sugars are more controlled (went from an A1C of 7.6 to 7.0).... read more
Very disrespectful of my time. My first appointment was at 1pm. I waited until 1:15pm for someone to unlock doors after lunch. It was 1:30 before being seen by the doctor. On entering the room Dr. asked why I was there. When I responded, he smugly disregarded me and laughed asking again about the referring doctor. It was like he doubted the diagnoses - despite multiple specialists having diagnosed it 10yrs earlier. After examination, He told me about his research studies and he requested I visit his "office" because the nece... read more
Repaired macular hole. Results great and procedure as comfortable as could be expected. Very satisfied.
I’m 61 and had developed Strabismus. (I had it as a child and had the inner eye muscles corrected) Dr. Cohen surgically corrected the outer muscles last week. He’s an excellent surgeon and explained everything I should expect during recovery. They are my EYES so I want the best surgeon treating me. Highly recommend!!
As a senior partner, Dr. Bell was consulted before the cataract surgeon operated to replace an artificial lens in my husband’s eye. The patient was on blood thinners, he and I were unfamiliar with the protocols, and Dr. Bell gave the okay. A routine 20-30 minute procedure ultimately took about 8 hours, and left my husband in extreme, unrelenting pain. Also BLIND IN HIS RIGHT EYE. The cataract surgeon felt bad about it; Dr. Bell was flippant: he pointed out that it’s lucky we have 2 eyes because that meant the patient still h... read more
I would recommend Dr. Cohen to anybody with absolutely NO hesitation. He is very professional, and his work is top notch. He corrected my strabismus and, now, instead of wearing "coke bottle glasses," I do not wear glasses at all, and my vision is 20/20. He is absolutely one of the best.
Dr Singer was as rude as he could possibly be at a time when I was worries about losing my vision. I would not recommend him to anyone especially for eye care.
Terrible treatment of his patients. Makes them feel like they are stupid and are a bother for him to see. He should have gone into another type of medicine if he didn't want to deal with scared patients.
Found Dr Singer to be very rude and not empathetic. Absolutely no bed side mannner and when dealing with someone's eyes that's important. There are many other well qualified doctors in this town. Do not waste your time with this one..
